General
Many years ago my daughter and I started to research our ancestors. We spent many holiday weeks in the county archive in Vadstena. In those days, you were allowed to handle the original documents. That was more rewarding than todays filmed documents. I have added "Church books" (="Kyrkböcker") for some persons (Only in the Swedish pages). In those pages I
follow the person from birth to death, based on the church books in
the old Genline and Arkiv Digital sites. Today I am mostly using the Arkiv Digital pictures due to their superior quality. Since Ancestry bought Genline and closed their site with a nice UI, I haven´t used the Ancestry pages.
If you are looking at these pages and discover errors or have supplementary
information, I am grateful for an email.
If you think you can help me to identify persons in old photographs, go to
"Family pictures".
In this update I have added further branches of the family tree. With
the aid of DISBYT have also some distant branches been added.
The effort to add primary sources have also had the effect that I have
found more relatives. The amount of information available on the internet has almost exploded when Church books now are updated until 1930.
My DISBYT pages will still be more updated than these pages. (Updated in December 2014.)
You can see the result of the research if you click on "Startpage" to
the left. I have included an English version of the family pages. There are no pictures or additional information added to these pages. Those interested have to find the person in the Swedish version. The yellow squares are clickable to choose a new main person.
The reason for the mixed flag to get to this page is due to the fact that I don´t really know whether It is the US or Brittish English I write.
Then I salute Jönköpingsbygdens Genealogiska förening (JBGF), Demografisk Databas över södra Sverige and Demografiska databasen - Umeå Universitet. And, of course, Arkiv Digital , former Genline, SVAR och DISBYT .
